Impossible Joy
  • August 9 – Impossible Joy -- Outline
Without faith it is impossible to live a happy joyful life and you know it. You are living it, aren’t you? Life goes on and becomes a daily existence. Joy is impossibly reached. For without Faith it is impossible to please God or ourselves. And yet, God and His Word teach that Impossible Joy is attainable. That joy only comes through a life that is lived in Faith – Faith is the belief that God exists and that he desires to reward my life with Joy. Impossible Joy is only possible when I choose to believe in Him and earnestly seek to achieve His rewards in life on His terms rather than my terms.

  • August 16 – Impossible Joy – A Lifetime Achievement -- Outline
Impossible Joy is only achieved in life when we choose to live a life of faith in God. If I live my life by faith, then I have to just accept and believe and be sure of, not what I have in hand and can achieve on my own, but simply on the hope of what has been promised. And further, I must absolutely trust and believe and be certain of what I do not see. And what is it that I do not see – God! God speaks to all of us everyday and asks us to trust Him and follow His lead into the unknown. It is outside the comfort zone that we find God waiting. And it is where God is that we find Impossible Joy.

God will always allow us to strive after joy in our own effort and it may even result in a temporary joy. It is only, as in the example of Jonah in the Bible, when we give up and seek after obeying God that we can find ourselves rescued from a senseless, joyless existence and find true meaning in our lives. That takes a huge step of faith into the unknown known. And seeking to obey God in faith is not a one-time occurrence. It will involve obedience and disobedience, repentance and retracing. It is a continual stepping to the edge of the unknown and jumping out of the airplane, knowing that God is your tandem master skydiver. Without Faith it is Impossible to Please God or achieve Impossible Joy!

Talk about a living example of living out exactly what we have been talking about in this series – The Peterson Family followed the Fleeting Thoughts that God put in their hearts and moved to Peru to become missionaries. They will be here this day to share their Faith Journey and to answer the question as to whether or not it has brought them Impossible Joy!

  • September 6 – Impossible Joy – A Second Chance -- Outline
Many of us have lived our whole lives seeking to be happy, only to find ourselves in a state of depression because we have sought that Impossible Joy in everything but obeying the voice of God in our Fleeting Thoughts. We have sought to put ourselves first in our relationships, our activities, our philosophies, our lives and it has resulted in some fun times, but no lasting joy. We now find ourselves in an enslaved state of nonplus monotony. But it is never too late to Act in Faith and seek after God. There is not a time that God gives up on us. It is never too late to benefit from His Impossible Joy.
